Take for instance. India's 250 mw Obra Thermal
Power Station, now on "expansion". Our contribution there has
included construction,erection of all the boilers, plus commisioning of the new
plant... The first 100 mw unit is already ready : the second 100 mw unit is
nearing completion and when we will have completed the third unit. Uttar
Pradesh will have a solid additional source of 300 mw power supply in Obra, a great
national wealth well nurtured by International Combustion. Earlier, at the
3x140 mw Chandrapura Thermal Power Station, we had carried out the boiler
erection in record time.
And this is the latest news: we
have just won the contract for Thakurali Power Plant.
Maintenance and overhauling of power
plants too is very muc forte.
Answering an S.O.S. call to rectify chronic
power shortage, we are, at the moment, carrying our maintenace, and overhauling
of the vast Durgapur Project Limited that was originally designed to provide
285 mw of electricity for the Calcutta metropolis ... Repair work has already
been successfully completed in one unit with 75 mw capacity, well on schedule.
The result: already a much improved power supply position.
And we are involved on a number
of other national projects as well.
