And MICO helps with the harvest
India has over 5,000 km. of coastline.
And right off it is a rich, fertile farm.
The sea.
Today, exports of Indian sea foods account for 390 million
rupees in foreign exchange.
Within the next ten years, it is expected that the value of
sea food exports will treble.
Yet, for want of more deep sea trawlers. India has barely
scratched the surface of her sea food potential.
The Fourth Five Year Plan seeks to remedy this.
As many as 8,000 wooden trawlers and 200 steel vessels will
be added.
These trawlers will require high and medium-speed marine
diesel engines.
And wherever diesel power opens up new potential. MICO is
deeply involved. It has developed quality fuel injection equipment for a range
of marine diesel engines.
MICO - triggers the wheels of progress.
